Our Story
From graphic design and Windows scripting to award-winning software, AI solutions and long-term technology partnerships, here's how Mlondiem grew from one person's passion into one company with endless possibilities.
Mlondiem Technologies began with Mlondie Lukhele's long-standing passion for design excellence - years of hands-on graphic design, Windows scripting and custom software development before the company itself existed. Learning Javascript for Windows scripting and HTML Applications (HTAs) in the mid 2000s, Mlondie developed a strong desire to craft software tailored to real-world problems using available technologies.
One of the earliest major projects was an HTA developed for the Pongola Christian Centre in South Africa in about 2008. When Mlondiem Investments (Pty) Ltd was formally established in April 2021, that creative design foundation had grown into something broader: an expanding expertise in software development and modern web technologies, and, driven by the sudden shift to remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic, a mission to train people to actually use the digital tools now central to their jobs and studies.
What started as one person's craft became a small team solving a wider range of problems for a wider range of people, without losing the original obsession with creating technology that is thoughtfully designed, expertly engineered and genuinely dependable.

The name "Mlondiem" is formed from the first name of our founder, Mlondie Lukhele, with the initial of his middle name appended to close out the word - pronounced /m'lond-yem/. It was chosen to be distinctive and memorable, in keeping with the company's own tagline: you never forget.

Started in graphic design and Windows scripting - corporate identity, print, event invites, and typesetting work for individuals and small businesses.

Developed numerous scripting tools such as animated periodic tables, university exam timetables, personal anti-virus, Windows automation components using HTML Applications (HTAs), WSF, etc.

Developed fully fledged custom software, building bespoke business systems and websites rather than off-the-shelf tools.

Expanded into multimedia production, creating professional radio jingles, commercials, software tutorials, voice productions and promotional video content for organisations and businesses.

Toured institutions across Eswatini during the COVID-19 remote-work shift, training educators and learners on video conferencing and digital collaboration tools - the seed of our Specialised Training Services.

Added remote and onsite technical support, including retainer arrangements for businesses without an in-house IT department.
